RJMDS English School was established on 21st June 2004 with a vision to provide
quality education to students in Mumbai. Starting with just 12 students, we have grown into a renowned institution with over 2,130 students. Our first batch appeared for the SSC exams in March 2014, marking a significant milestone in our journey
Our Legacy
Ratnagiri Jilha Maratha Dnyati Samaj, Mumbai, was established on the 8th of October, 1962, which was an auspicious occasion of the Great Festival Dussehra. The objective was to run activities for the well-being of Samaj, comprising people who had come largely from Ratnagiri & Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra.
After around four years, the founder committee members—V.N. Shinde, Prabhakar Vishwasrao, Palkar Guruji, Shankar Rao Pawar, and others—having realized the importance of educational development in the all-round development of society, started contemplating founding an educational institution. At that time, Mr. Prabhakar Vishwasrao was running a small private coaching class. He made an offer to our Samaj that his coaching class be converted into a school.
This proposal was unanimously agreed upon, and this gave birth to Balvikas Vidya Mandir. The day was 2nd October, 1967, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. With this step, the institution stepped into the field of education and has contributed immensely to the field and has educated and inspired innumerable bright minds.2013 is a year of celebration for us as it's our golden jubilee year. In the last 50 years, we have conquered several setbacks, challenges, and difficult situations.
Our current setup is from nursery to S.S.C. Balvikas has earned a reputation for itself and has carved its name permanently in the field of education. In 2003, after multiple marathon discussions, management came to the conclusion of starting an English medium school. On one hand, it was a need of an hour. On the other, we needed it for the survival of our institution. The strength of the Marathi medium was, and has been, decreasing in the last few years, and the English medium school was not only an additional route in our educational journey but also an opportunity with immense potential.

From the Institute President's Desk
Ratnagiri Jilha Maratha Dnyati Samaj, Mumbai established on 8th October 1962. The Institute decided to work in education field and opened Bal Vikas Vidya Mandir, Jogeshwari on 2nd October 1967. We are running this school since last 58 years with dedication & aim to serve poor and slums area students like Jogeshwari.
Myself with our Colleagues Shri. Vishwanath Tawade, Shri. Sahadeo Sawant and Shri. Vishwanath Sawant had all put a tremendous efforts to Start & Run this School. At present Our Marathi Medium School Bal Vikas Vidya Mandir have good name in Mumbai.
The Institute started RJMDS's English School on 21st June, 2004 and I got the golden opportunity to work as a First Chairman of RJMDS's English School. We started school with only 13 students, now we have 2130 number of students from Nursery to S.S.C. Our students bagged International Championship in Karate. We are planning to give more specious Class rooms, Laboratory and other facilities in nearby future.
